Eye Rest is a 20-20-20 eye-rest / screen-break reminder app. It is a timer-based reminder only: at the interval you choose it sends a notification and shows a calm 20-second "look away" countdown. It does not use your camera, eye-tracking, or any sensor to measure your eyes or your distance from the screen. Nothing is measured, and your reminder, streak and history data stays on your device.

Data We Collect

The app has no accounts and collects no personal profile data itself. Because it is free and ad-supported, the Google AdMob advertising SDK collects a limited set of data to serve ads (see Advertising below). Apart from that:

Advertising

This app is free and shows ads through Google AdMob: a banner above the navigation bar. The banner is hidden while a reminder session is running. The app shows no full-screen ads. To serve and measure ads, the AdMob SDK collects and shares the following data with Google — even though the app itself never requests it:

This data is used for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention, and is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. See Google's disclosure at support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543.

You can reset or limit your advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).

Your Ad Choices

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested, using Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform). There you decide whether ads may be personalised. You can change your answer at any time: open the Settings tab and choose Privacy options. Where no consent form applies, or after you have bought Remove Ads, that entry is not shown.

Remove Ads

A single optional one-time Remove Ads purchase removes the ads. There is no subscription, no free trial, and no recurring charge. The purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing — we never see or store your payment details. Once the purchase is recorded, the app requests no further ads; from the next start it does not start the advertising software and does not ask for ad consent. The app checks with Google Play for an earlier purchase at every start, and Settings → Restore purchases does the same on request.

Local Storage

The app stores, locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences: your reminder interval, your theme choice, the times of your completed breaks (your break count and day streak are calculated from these), the time of your first start, when you were last asked for a rating, and whether Remove Ads was purchased. A running session is not stored. This data never leaves your device.

Notifications, Sound and Vibration

With your permission the app sends a local reminder notification at the interval you choose; it asks for the notification permission when you start your first session (Android 13 and later). When a break is due it can play a short chime, generated by the app, and vibrate. During a session you can choose to keep the screen on. All of this happens on your device; nothing is sent to a server.

Network Use

The reminders work without an internet connection. Network access is used only to request ads, to load the consent form where one applies, and for Google Play (the Remove Ads purchase, and restoring it).

Rating Prompt

After you confirm a break, the app may ask Google Play to show its in-app rating dialog — not in the first day after you install the app, and at most once every 60 days. The dialog is shown and handled by Google Play; the app receives no rating or review text.

More Apps

Settings → More apps lists other apps from the same studio. The list is part of the app; nothing is loaded from the internet to show it. Tapping an app opens its page in the Google Play Store app (or in your browser). The app sends nothing when you do this; what Google Play records is covered by Google's own privacy policy.

In-App Feedback

Settings → Send Feedback opens a pre-filled draft in your device's own mail app, addressed to feedback+eye_rest_reminder@99ersstudio.com, with the app name and version and your device's operating-system version included so we can reproduce issues. Nothing is sent automatically — you review the draft, may delete the device info, and send it yourself, or simply close it. The app does not collect your email address.

Children

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will publish the revised version at this URL and change the date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
