Light Meter measures ambient brightness. It reads your device's built-in ambient light sensor — the small sensor that also drives automatic screen brightness — and shows the reading in lux, along with an exposure value (EV) for photography. It does not use your camera, your microphone, or your location. The sensor reading is used to draw the display and is never stored or transmitted; readings exist only while the app is open.
The only data collected is your advertising ID, used by Google AdMob to serve ads while you are on the free plan. This is standard for ad-supported free apps.
This app uses Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial ads. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to personalise ads. Before ads are served in the EU/EEA and UK, the app requests consent via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can opt out of personalised ads at any time in your device settings (Google Settings → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation on Android).
After the one-time Remove Ads purchase, no ads are loaded or shown.
This app offers a single optional one-time Remove Ads purchase. There is no subscription, no free trial, and no recurring charge. Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing using Android's `in_app_purchase` mechanism. We do not see or store your payment details. Your purchase entitlement is stored locally on your device.
The app stores exactly three settings locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences: your theme choice (light / dark / system), your selected ISO value for the exposure readout, and your Remove Ads entitlement. Nothing else is written to storage, and this data never leaves your device.
If you use the in-app feedback button, it opens a pre-filled email draft in your own email app, containing the app version and your Android version so we can reproduce issues. Nothing is sent automatically — an email is transmitted only if you choose to send it, and you can edit or delete any part of the draft first.
The readings are provided for guidance only. Ambient light sensors are not calibrated instruments and their accuracy varies by device; the sensor also sits near the front camera, so a finger or case over that area will change the reading. Do not rely on this app where a calibrated measurement is required.
This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we update this policy, we will publish the revised version at this URL. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
